The Wichita Atheists Meetup isn't a religion. It's a close, personal relationship with people you can actually meet and talk with.

Who's invited?
We're a social group of atheists, and all non-theists are welcome, whether you choose to use the "atheist" label or not.

When
We get together for good conversation and good food on the third Tuesday and first Sunday of each month.

How to find us
How to find our meetup group varies from event to event. Details for each event are provided on this site and via email. We occasionally hold potluck events at members' homes, but usually we meet at a variety of restaurants. For those restaurants that take reservations, I reserve seating under both "Atheists Meetup" and my real name, Matt Hair. Just ask the hostess to be directed to that table. Regardless of whether reservations are offered, I always put up 8.5"x11" table signs with the red Meetup logo that you should be able to spot. (Click here to view a thumbnail image of the sign.)

What's a meetup like?
Everyone is an equal, and there is no particular agenda, so you'll get to chat about whatever comes to mind. Conversation often revolves around our experiences living as atheists in a predominately religious culture. Our meetup is also a good place to find out about secular activism opportunities, since some members are involved in such activities, and share them with the group.

Does it cost?
There is no charge to join or attend, but your meal or potluck item is your responsibility. Meetup.com charges a $12/month subscription fee to me; if you'd like to help defray that cost, cash donations at events are appreciated.
