Michael's Wichita City Council invocation

Wichita City Council meetings start with an invocation, which normally means a religious prayer of some sort, Constitution and efficiency be damned. Michael has jumped through all the right hoops, and will be giving a secular invocation at the July 20 meeting. His invocation will be at 9:00 AM sharp. You can go to support him, or just to watch any fireworks that may ensue.

Council meetings are held at City Hall, in room MS 1-13, on the first floor. Be sure to get there at least a few minutes before 9:00, so you can be seated in time for the invocation.

Sorry, no cool place to eat and talk, but...I did manage to schedule a Secular Invocation for a City Council meeting. The date that I have is Tuesday July 20th, at approximately 9:00am. It will be in City Hall in the City Hall meeting chambers (ground floor on the South end of the building). I would love to see you there! It is a secular invocation. The message is neutral rather than anything that could (would) be construed as nasty. Wichita has not had a secular invocation before.

Well, well, well. If you read the paper today you can see how the meeting went. On first appearances it might look gloomy, but if you go online http://www.... you can read the article AND register in the poll. over 82% of the public does not want prayer at public meetings. Big victory for everyone!!! Go to the webpage and register in the poll!!! If you want to watch the meeting go to http://wich... and scoll down to 7/20 meeting and click on video. You will have to pan over to 29 min and 30 sec where the video starts!
