We will be making a move to Carol's house for the September movie + potluck event. The movie this month - a filmed lecture, actually - will be "A Universe From Nothing", presented by physics professor Lawrence Krauss. If you've ever wondered why there is something, rather than nothing, Dr. Krauss gives the answer from physics. There will certainly be plenty to discuss afterward.
Carol has space for 16, so be sure to RSVP if you intend to be there. To go along with the film and discussion, there will be a potluck dinner. Carol will provide desert; you can bring small portions of whatever else you'd like to share.
Movie runtime: 65 minutes.
- Matt a.k.a. Stacey
The discussion went a little off track at first with a mention of Deepak Chopra, but Jamar, Lane, and Jared knew enough physics to help answer everyone's questions that remained after watching Krauss.
If anyone is more interested in string theory, I have the DVD of 'The Elegant Universe' (I have a copy of the book, too).
Thanks Matt. (Whose movie is it? Might like to share with my Dad who has of late gotten very interested in all of that funky physics)
The DVD is Alice's. The lecture is also available online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ImvlS8PLIo![]()

How was the talk and discussion? Krauss seemed to do a good job of talking to non-scientists ... at least he did until I had to leave.
