"Stacey" is my nickname from college - from WSU to be exact. It was there that I deconverted from Christianity. I was an evil business major, but I took a few philosophy classes, too.

"Hello Wichita Atheists members, For awhile now, I've been interested in diversifying the activities of the Wichita Atheists meetup group - which will hopefully increase interest and turnout - but I just haven't had the time to do all the plann ... Moreing and organizing involved. That will be changing going forward, because Jamar Martin is joining me as an Assistant Organizer. Jamar and I have lots of activity ideas, and we will begin scheduling those in the near future. New activities will help meet both the social and intellectual needs of Wichita Atheists, and we will have both recurring and special events. If you're only interested in the regular meetups over dinner that we've always had, don't worry - those will remain as always. We just hope to broaden interest in our group with a broader array of activities to appeal to a diverse membership. Jamar has been a meetup regular for the past year, so if you've been there much in that time, you've probably met him. If not, I encourage you to make it to a meetup to meet Jamar. He is very interested in a number of topics related to atheism, and in increasing turnout for the Wichita Atheists group. Plus, he's an all-around friendly and intelligent guy who is a pleasure to talk with. Both Jamar and I are ready to add your event ideas to ours, so please contact either of us with those, or better yet, come tell us at an upcoming meetup! Matt a.k.a. Stacey Organizer, Wichita Atheists "
"I'm not entirely sure what all would be tax free if we were granted non-profit status. Donation would be tax writeoffs, for sure. And maybe if the organization purchased food directly, that would not be taxed...."
"I saw a news item from KSN this past week, in which the Kansas legislature is considering levying taxes on churches and other non-profits in order to help ameliorate our revenue shortfall: http://www.msnbc.msn.... ... MoreNot that it has a chance of going anywhere, but it was a nice surprise to see it even brought up. "
