The Return of Compulsory Government-Sponsored Religious Indoctrination
It seems compulsory government-sponsored religious indoctrination is making a comeback, courtesy of Major General James E. Chambers. Given the oath he swore to support and defend the constitution -- including that whole "freedom of religion" part in the first amendment -- someone may want to inquire as to his fitness to wear those two stars. Oathbreakers do not make good generals. http://firedoglake.co... (Further proving my point about the military and its religious agenda)... |

More detail about this event. Further down in the article it states how much the DoD pays for these concerts so there is a money trail. Thank goodness the army is investigating this, it will be interesting to see the results of their investigation. I don't necessarily blame the army though, its the pool of good ol boys they mostly recruit from. In any group of people where religion is pushed (including public schools in more rural areas) groups like the Military religious Freedom Foundation, the ACLU, and the sheer amount of media/bloggers reporting on this type of thing are what we can rely on to keep us safe. We have to keep speaking up though, just like these soldiers did. |

I had seen an AP article that said the Army was investigating. But from the article you linked, Alex, it looks like some EO people at the fort tried to stop that from ever happening. It's sickening stuff when the people who are supposed to be there to protect minority rights are actually trying to destroy minority rights.
